Imagine: an almost college graduate enters her professor’s office asking for any and all advice for what comes next in life as tears forged from a lost sense of hope well at her eyes.
After weepy discussions and many solutions, she hears one piece of advice that seems simple enough: start a blog.
Well, two years have passed since that day and here I am. Starting a blog.
Two years of saying I will do it, don’t worry. Two years of saying that I should write this somewhere people can see it instead of in the page margins or a notebook I will most likely misplace in the next week.
I’m finally here acting on that one piece of advice.
What will I be writing about? That is a wonderful question that I’m not even certain I have a static answer for. It may be books, drama reviews, current events, literary theory ramblings, or simply gifs I made and want to share.
Please anticipate my thoughts, theories, and analysis of anything and everything I find intriguing in this wild world.
To end my first post, I am doing something completely original and never done before– completing a “Get to Know Me” tag.
- Where did you grow up? All around the USA!
- Tea or coffee? Tea all the way; I am about to make some boba tea actually.
- Have any books you read changed your life? I’ve always loved reading, but reading the Percy Jackson novels in middle school turned that literary love into passion. Then, in high school, reading Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston and writing the first paper I truly felt proud of kick-started my analytical writing journey. So, yeah, books have changed my life.
- How would you describe your fashion sense? Currently aspiring to be a Cardcaptor Sakura character but I’m the subpar english dubbed version. I’ve got the chunky sneakers down though.
- What is your go-to fast food order? Spaghetti, adobo rice, and a peach mango pie from jollibee.
- Do you know your personality type? What is it? INFP
- What was your dream job as a kid? I spent half of my childhood wanting to be a zookeeper then, during the other half, I wanted to be a teacher. I’m currently living my second childhood dream job.
- What are your pet peeves? Whenever someone calls another person who is not an actual baby “baby,” I cringe from the depths of my being; when someone does not wipe down the sink after washing dishes or brushing their teeth; bending book pages, ew.
- Who is your role model? My mom and my literature professors.
- What is the biggest struggle you overcame? The uncertainty of life after graduating college and actually starting this blog
Until next time, folks!
